In the world of today, having knowledge of history is more important than ever. Many recent events can be explained by watching what has happened before.

As writer and philosophist George Santayana once said: 'Those who do not learn history, are doomed to repeat it.'

We do see some comparisons between the society of today and the society of the world in Brave New World.

Once, sex was considered a taboo, though slowly it is becoming quite the opposite.

On the opposite, there are some things that people are currently battling for and we probably shouldn't be worried about.

The class-system introduced by Huxley is something that is currently being fought against. With the rise of feminism and equality a class-system would be incredibly hard to implement in the world of today

Huxley gives us a view of a dystopia ruled by consumerism, a path which we seemingly are currently taking.

He shows us what lies at the end of the road. He shows we need change.
